On June 21-24 in Amsterdam, the annual Cinema Expo International convention and tradeshow took place, which brought together cinema exhibitors, distributors and equipment suppliers from all over the world.
As part of the event, an agreement was signed between Nevafilm and Opus Arte, which represents the interests of major European theatres - the Royal Opera House, Shakespeare’s Globe, and King’s College among others - in issues regarding contracts for the airing of performances in cinemas across the world. Currently, the programmes of Opus Arte can be seen in 30 countries.
Starting October 2010, the alternative content distributor, Nevafilm Emotion, will offer a new series of plays to Russian digital screens, which in the 2010-2011 season includes the ballet Giselle by Adam; the operas The Valkyrie (Wagner), Fidelio (Beethoven), Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Macbeth (Verdi), Handel’s Messiah, as well as Romeo and Juliette, a play performed by Shakespeare’s Globe.
